Yesterday in my Tokong of Penang met God of Climatology I narrated the politics of MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon today mocking (or teasing) Lim Guan Eng as Penang's adulated political 'tokong' not to 'fight' the heavens, considering Guan Eng had to call upon the military for flood relief help.

And I am glad that Chong saw fit to apologise for what (I had described as his flat and off colour jibe at Guan Eng. 'Tis a healing action that Tony Pua (DAP Selangor Chief) would do well to learn instead of arrogantly dismissing a political opponent (but an erstwhile benefactor) as a 'nobody'.

I mentioned that in a political sense Chong had nastily imputed Guan Eng has not been respectful enough to the Chinese concept of 'Heavens' (Gods).
But in Malaysiakini today, we read of Chong apologises for Guan Eng 'deity' jibe as he realised Penangites have been hurt by his words.
I feel it would be better if he has just apologised to Guan Eng for a bad joke rather than showed his reaction had been to public opinions. Nonetheless, an apology of this nature can be and should be accepted.
To further sweeten his apologies, Chong said, "MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM), Penang MCA and Youthcare Movement Malaysia are going to help with the flood relief."
