From Malaysiakini (extracts):
T'was reported he wrote (usually in Malay, English, Chinese and Jawi):
"Going round Penang Island today, we find the coast is changing and Balik Pulau is less green. The population of 850,000 require houses and employment. The priority is to preserve the forest and the green."
Anything resembling a major disaster for Guan Eng?
Continuing the above MKINI article, Dr Tan said ... he will not contest as an independent candidate in the coming general election.
"No, I will not stand as an independent candidate in Kepong. This is not the way how politics should be," Tan said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Tan also pledged that he will not defect to another party.
Dr Tan has accepted with exceptional dignity the humongous disrespectful low-level ostracization of him, a very senior DAP leader, but the ill-mannered and disgracious method seems to be the modus operandi of the DAP young Turks and alleged evangelist coterie - see my postun-Chinese Tony Pua.
Last night, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng announced that Tan [Seng Giaw] will be replaced by incumbent Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, while incumbent Subang Jaya assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh will be fielded in Segambut.
Tan, who is Public Accounts Committee deputy chairperson, said he did not attend last night's event held in Petaling Jaya because he was not invited.

Dr Tan served Kepong as a DAP MP for 36 years, has been a DAP member since 1979 (40 years), a senior DAP leader still serving his party as National Vice-chairman, was Selangor DAP chairman for five years, from 1982 to 1987.
Yet he wasn't even invited by the party to attend DAP's announcement of DAP Selangor's candidates for GE14?
Even if the DAP event involved a change of the guards adverse to Dr Tan, the DAP should have shown courtesy by inviting such a senior DAP person who would have graciously accepted the party's decisions.
Dr Tan's presence would have shown the DAP party is a mature one and still very united but alas, their discourtesy, snub or even hostility to Dr Tan was a terrible let-down, an indictment on Lim Guan Eng's childishness, churlishness and cowardice.

Seemingly Dr Tan's biggest sin was to criticise Penang's environmental record in his Facebook last year.
"Going round Penang Island today, we find the coast is changing and Balik Pulau is less green. The population of 850,000 require houses and employment. The priority is to preserve the forest and the green."
Anything resembling a major disaster for Guan Eng?
Three days later, Guan Eng told a press conference at Komtar that the party had not been able to contact Dr Tan since early that year (2017). What was Guan Eng attempting to prove, following Dr Tan's mild criticism of Penang's green environment? Was Guan Eng that thin-skinned?
But Dr Tan denied he was incommunicado, saying he could always be contacted unless of course at that particular moment he was talking on his handphone.

Next, before anyone could count-down from 10 for the Rocket to blast off, Hew Kuan Yau, once known as the DAP 'Superman', asked Dr Tan Seng Giaw to step down from his position as national vice-chairman.
Interestingly, at that time Hew had already left the DAP following his scandalous“South China Sea is China’s. Don’t oppose China just because you are anti-Communist” which greatly embarrassed the DAP because it was seen as highly unpatriotic as Malaysia owns a couple of islets there whilst laying claims on others.
As Joceline Tan wrote: Hew did the right thing by parachuting out of DAP. He had become a liability and an embarrassment to his party. [...]
... his opinions on issues also represent the right-wing and chauvinistic segment of DAP. [...]
He is a sort of DAP version of Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali – loud, insensitive and unafraid to voice extremist views.

So, Who.T.F**k was Hew, an ex-DAP member, to call for Dr Tan to step down as DAP National Vice Chairman, just because of an unfavourable remark about Penang's green credentials?
But obviously, relations between Guan Eng and Dr Tan went south since that day in June 2017.
"No, I will not stand as an independent candidate in Kepong. This is not the way how politics should be," Tan said when contacted by Malaysiakini.
Tan also pledged that he will not defect to another party.

While I dislike LKS I never thought the day would come when I would also criticise Guan Eng, but it shows the bangsa. langsat hasn't fallen far from the langsat tree.
With this abominable treatment of Dr Tan Seng Giaw, I have lost my respect, support and admiration for the DAP.
