MM Online - Dr M: Pakatan has ‘secret weapon’ if EC blocks PKR logo for all (extracts):
PETALING JAYA, April 17 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) has a contingency plan in place should poll regulators bar the pact’s candidates from using PKR’s symbol in the general election, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad asserted today.
The PH chairman said this was to ensure that the 14th general election will be a direct contest between his pact and the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) as much as possible.
“We have some ideas, our secret weapon, as to what to do, but we can’t tell you or else the other party will know,” he said after chairing PH’s presidential council meeting at Menara Yayasan Selangor here today. [...]
The Election Commission (EC) was previously reported as saying it must approve the use of PKR’s logo by all of the pact’s candidates, before backtracking on its remarks.
However, Dr Mahathir and his allies are not taking things for granted.
“We will not be surprised if, a day before nomination day, the EC comes out to say Pakatan candidates can’t contest with PKR’s logo,” he said.

Almost two weeks ago I posted Pakatan-PKR logo okay but no double dipping in which:
EC chairman Mohd Hashim Abdullah issued a statement this morning to clarify the confusion which arose from news reports saying that Pakatan Harapan needed EC approval for using the PKR logo as planned.
In the statement, reported by Bernama, Hashim said he had only remarked that there could be any use of any Pakatan Harapan logo if the coalition has not been registered by the Registrar of Societies and it had not registered a logo with the Election Commission.
“What was stated at the press conference was that if a candidate intends to compete on a PKR ticket, then only the party logo is allowed to be used during the general election for campaign purposes.
“Other party symbols cannot be used as campaign material. This would include the DAP, Amanah and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) symbols,” he said.
He said yesterday’s statement had been misconstrued to mean that use of PKR logo by other party members in the election must be approved by the EC.

So, it's OK to use PKR's logo BUT, for example, the DAP CANNOT use its Rocket side-by-side with the blue bulan nor fly the Rocket during the election campaign.
In other words, no double dipping, wakakaka. Basically the Rocket is grounded and dead, very dead, in total oblivion.
The DAP candidates are now stuck with the Blue Moon and possibly may appear to older voters as PKR-istas or worse, those holy mullahs - tough baby.
But Mahathir's ace in his sleeve, in the event EC tells Pribumi at the very last minute its candidates cannot use PKR logo, is as I suspect, for every Pribumi candidate to join PKR (not just using PKR's logo).
I wonder how late EC will inform Pribumi before Nomination Day and how long it will take for Pribumi's candidates to join PKR?
But for Mahathir personally, it'll be the greatest disgrace and humiliation for him to join Anwar Ibrahim's party as a refuge, when he was the very reason why Wan Azizah saw to the formation of PKR to save Anwar. What goes around certainly comes around.
