Sun Daily - Penang PPBM chief admits being a senator candidate:

BUTTERWORTH: Penang Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chief Marzuki Yahya has revealed that he is one of the candidate from the party that will be appoint as a senator in the next Dewan Negara sitting.

He however said he was not sure whether the appointment has got to do with him being ascended to a deputy minister positions that are currently vacant in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) new cabinet.

"It is all up to the leadership,we'll just wait for the announcement", he told reporters after the state party Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at Dewan Besar Sungai Dua here yesterday.

Marzuki said his appointment as senator will be made under PH PPBM quota for the position.

Penang has been won by mainly the DAP and PKR, with Amanah and Pribumi playing only a minority role. 37 out of the total 40 contested seats were won by Pakatan in Penang, where the DAP secured 19 while PKR won 14, with Amanah picking up 2 and Pribumi 2.

Thus, Pakatan Harapan is assured to two senator seats due to Penang. Please explain to me why Pribumi is getting one?

Furthermore, the bloke slated for one of the two senator seats is Marzuki Yahya, the Penang chief for Pribumi but who lost the federal seat of Tasek Gelugor to the BN in the last election in May.

rejected by voters yet will be the nation's deputy foreign minister

the UMNO formula

Pakatan is therefore breaking one of of its promises, namely, to NOT use the senate backdoor to promote an election losing candidate into the cabinet. It's said Marzuki Yahya will be the new deputy Foreign Minister.

PM Mahathir is just robbing the DAP and PKR of its due rights, to wit, one of the two senate seats. Then he breaks a solemn Pakatan promise to promote his Pribumi kaki into the cabinet via the backdoor.
