Anwar Ibrahim's enemies and detractors are many, with these selimut-ish foes emerging from the woodwork to object to his candidacy to become a parliamentarian through a forced by-election in Port Dickson (PD).
Some have been more subtle in their voiced unhappiness like Azmin Ali (see MKINI's
Port Dickson discussion with PKR leaders now 'purely academic'), whilst some are very overt a la our sweetie Siti Kasim - see my yesterday's post Bay-Chay-Tian.

Then there are those who have turned a bit 'ugly' like Patriots, a veterans organisation (headed by retired Brig-Jen Raja Arshad). A war of words has commenced between the general and the just-resigned MP for PD, Danyal Balagopal Abdullah who is also a retired Admiral (General) - see MM Online'sWe toiled hard for your victory, Patriot tells quitting PD lawmaker.
As if that was not enough, retired Brig-Jen Arshard has threatened to overturn the durian cart. FMT reported:
Arshad said the group was not against Anwar contesting in a by-election.
“In fact, we have the best wishes for him as he is the prime minister-in-waiting."

“Patriot is only against Danyal resigning to make way for Anwar. We are expressing the disappointment of numerous veterans expressed through social media, and even calls to send a retired officer to contest as an independent in the forced by-election.”.
... it [Patriots] viewed the retired admiral as just a pawn in PKR’s political intrigues and told him not to bother continuing to serve the constituency as he said he would, as he has no clout to do so.
“He can consider it lucky if his name is scribed into history in a mere single sentence mention of an MP who has resigned,” the group said in a statement.
“There is a big difference between speaking out as an MP and as an officer serving under an MP. The voice of an MP, whose positioned is high in the protocol ranking, speaking out on veterans and retired police issues carries a lot of weight.”

Patriots warned Anwar Ibrahim against creating a family dynasty in Parliament, saying the PKR leader should have asked his wife or daughter instead of the Port Dickson MP, a retired rear admiral, to give up their federal seat for him.
National Patriots Association (Patriot) president Brigadier-General (rtd) Mohamad Arshad Raji said Anwar should have picked either Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s Pandan seat, or Nurul Izzah’s Permatang Pauh seat.

Sad thing is the Anwar family has been caught in a dilemma. Knowing they are surrounded by enemies and "enemies", they dare not ask Princess Iron Fan to give up Pandan. She perceives the need to hang on to the DPM post for dear life, for fear of possible events happening during that brief interlude.
And of course Nurul Izzah is too young to surrender her Permatang Pauh seat when she has a future in politics.
Poor Danyal Balagopal Abdullah has been caught in a scheme hatched by Rafizi, while has riled Patriots.
It's a lose-lose-lose situation for PKR, or at least the Pandan Cats faction.
