MM Online - Pastor Koh and Amri’s family not behind lawsuit on ‘enforced disappearance’ (extracts)
In a statement today, lawyer Sheryll Stothard said that the leader of the lawyers group Andy Yong has never met her clients Susanna Koh and Norhayati Mohd Ariffin (Amri’s wife) and do not represent them.

Andy Yong Kin Seng is (was?) Gerakan deputy youth chief, wakakaka. Obviously he is char-koay-teow-ing on the case of the missing preacher and social activist, though to be fair to Andy, a group of individual lawyers and Citizens Against Enforced Disappearances (Caged) were also involved.
Pastor Koh was kidnapped in early 2017, but prior to that he was reported to be ... involved in a controversy during in 2011, after being accused of proselytising Muslims. A box containing two bullets, with a note in written in Malay threatening his life, had been sent to Koh's house.
Some Muslims must have viewed him as a threat to their religious belief.
Amri Che Mat was a Perlis social activist who was also kidnapped a few months ahead of Pastor Koh. Significantly he was a member of the Shiite minority.
Suhakam has just accused the Malaysian Police Special Branch (SB) of being the kidnapper. Why did the SB allegedly do so?
Amri Che Mat and Pastor Koh were both from religious minorities which did NOT get along well or in tolerable fashion with the Sunnis, the main Islamic denomination of Malaysia.

Buddhists, Taoists, Sikhs and Confucianists seldom have such conflicting relationship with the Sunnis, though from time to time Hindus have encountered unpleasantness.
I dare say the root cause for the two missing persons was the same, to wit, religious conflict, though I do not know why the SB was allegedly involved with such a situation, other than it might have allegedly "taken instructions" from a very powerful religious person or group.
Our police, in particular its SB, have NOT been particularly known to be religiously involved, thus the allegations have raised even further puzzles.
Knowing to an extent the principal personalities like national-level politicians and our top police officers and their religious proclivities, I have arrived, after a lot of speculations (the best a layperson like me could do), at the belief some local SB lil' Napoleons might have "acted on someone's instructions" willingly or as mercenaries without even Tow-Kay knowing.
Sad to say it's most likely the two missing person are probably dead.
